Shoulder

Causes

The shoulder, a marvel of flexibility and movement, is stabilized more by muscles than bones. This unique design, while allowing a wide range of motion, also makes it prone to pain and mobility issues. The shoulder's complexity, with its three main joints and key muscles such as the rotator cuff and deltoid, is essential for its function but also a source of vulnerability. According this therapy, most shoulder pain can be traced back to muscular-fascial tension, a consequence of modern sedentary lifestyles. Prolonged sitting and poor posture lead to one-sided strain, causing these crucial muscles and fascia to 'shorten' and tense up. This tension can result in conditions like impingement syndrome, where the humeral head presses against the acromion, leading to pain and inflammation.

Liberation of pain
This therapy aims to alleviate shoulder pain by addressing the root causes rather than just the symptoms. Helena applies osteopressure to specific pain receptors in the periosteum, which signals the brain to relax muscles and fascia. If the pain goes down in the first session, we know it's from tight muscles and fascia. Her stretches also provide long-term relaxation of muscles and fascia.
