Do you feel a constant ache or get back pain when you move? Most of us sit too much, and this causes pain. But a spine is made to last a lifetime.
Symptoms
Back pain can come from many sources. From Prolapsed intervertebral disc, Cervical disc herniation, Slipping vertebrae (spondylolisthesis), Sciatica/sciatic pain, Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, Scoliosis, Spinal stenosis etc. ​
Causes
There are many types of back pain, and so many causes. I will focus here on the intervertebral discs, but if you would book a session we will go more in depth into your specific situation.
Each intervertebral disc is made up of a fibre ring and a gel-like core. They act as a shock absorber for the spine. Intervertebral discs need to move to remove waste materials and get nutrients. This means they have to be compressed and released – like a sponge. This happens when you bend and twist your torso.
If you sit a lot and don't move much, your spine will become unbalanced because of too much forward movement and too little backward movement. This can cause your discs to bulge. They won't get the nutrients they need, so they can't repair themselves. If there is too much pressure and not enough nutrients, you can get a herniated disc.

Liberation of pain
Helena applies osteopressure to specific pain receptors in the periosteum, signaling the brain to relax muscles and fascia. Her stretches also provide long-term relaxation of muscles and fascia, which could indirectly lead to atlas correction. This is because the reduced tension in muscles and tissue no longer pulls on the structure, which could alleviate symptoms.
