Bunion (Hallux Valgus)

Are your shoes feeling left out because they can't fit properly anymore? the ball of your toe pushes outward more and more and you feel a constant pain with every step? Sounds like you might be dealing with bunions, the pesky little devils causing constant pain and toe shifting.
Symptoms
Hallux valgus may not always result in pain and discomfort. Typically, these symptoms occur when the deformity or toe misalignment is already advanced. The initial sign of this condition is often a visible foot deformity and redness in the ball of the foot. However, specific exercises and treatment can help prevent further deformity and alleviate existing problems.
If left untreated, hallux valgus can cause long-term effects on the entire arch of your foot. A pronounced bunion can make the arch of your foot wider and lead to claw toes, hammer toes, hallux rigidus, and further pain in the metatarsal region. The falling of the transverse arch of the foot can also promote further tilting of the big toe and cause a splay.

Causes
Hallux Valgus can be caused by various factors, including high heels genetic predisposition, weak connective tissue (especially in women), arthritic joint changes, and repetitive movements. Additionally, a fallen arch of the foot, a splayfoot or a pigeon-toed foot, or preexisting condition of the metatarsophalangeal joint of the big toe due to a contracted foot can also contribute to the development of this condition. Most important is that our stretches could alleviate symptoms no matter what is the cause.
Liberation of pain
Helena applies osteopressure to specific pain receptors in the periosteum, signaling the brain to relax muscles and fascia in the foot. Her stretches also provide long-term relaxation of muscles and fascia, which focuses on alleviating what is often the cause of the problem. This is because the reduced tension in muscles and tissue no longer pulls on the structure, which is often the cause of the pain. Because muscles that pull in the wrong direction lead to misalignment in the foot. Even if a surgery is recommended, or if this is happening at a very young age, you can try our therapy first and might avoid a surgery.
